Over the last 82 years, News-Talk 1340 KROC AM has brought residents of Rochester, MN and surrounding communities important news and thought provoking talk.  Being an advocate for our listeners and community is at the forefront of what we do.

This past year we heard from many who wanted more programming that speaks to their values, local and national news and information that is timely and impactful, and more live programming that they can interact with in real time.  We're proud to introduce our new lineup!

About our station and lineup:

News-Talk KROC 1340 AM is Rochester's News Leader and loaded with insightful talk, conversation, Minnesota Twins, and University of Minnesota Golden Gophers sports. Local leaders and experts are regular guests during Rochester Today, weekdays at 11am. Guests typically include important members of the local community (e.g. the Mayor, Sheriff, Police Chief, School Superintendent, County Board members, etc.). Regional and national leaders and experts fill our airwaves the rest of the day ranging from Senators to current and past Presidents.

Rochester's News Leader: Featuring local news, information, and weather updates at least twice per hour from 6am to 6pm, our listeners count on us to bring them the most impactful and timely stories at the top and bottom of the hour. Journalists Kim David and Andy Brownell both have over 30 years of local news experience. In honor of his community efforts and commitment to local news and information, Mayor Ardell Brede recognized Kim David in December 2017 with the Mayor’s Medal of Honor Legacy Award.  In addition to our local team, we've partnered with ABC News and the Minnesota News Network to bring our listeners quality content on a national and regional level.

Conservative commentator and author Tom Ostrom is a regular and helps Andy dissect the issues of the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On select Fridays, Danielle Teal joins the team for Feel Good Fridays where she shares positive information about our community and residents.  Rochester Today also features a rotating panel of experts who make themselves available to assist KROC-AM listeners.
