Miranda Lambert Honors Aretha Franklin With ‘Do Right Woman, Do Right Man’ [WATCH]
Franklin, known as the "Queen of Soul," died on Thursday (Aug. 16), at her home in Detroit, Mich., according to her publicist. That evening, Lambert was performing in Buffalo, N.Y., as part of her Bandwagon Tour with Little Big Town, and delivered her version of the Franklin tune in the legend's honor.
Lambert's rendition of "Do Right Woman, Do Right Man" is as soulful as it is country. In the video, fans in attendance can be heard screaming, applauding and singing along during various points in the performance.
Franklin was 76 at the time of her death and was reported to be "gravely ill" earlier in the week. The first woman to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Franklin charted more than 100 singles on Billboard's charts and won 18 Grammy Awards. Her iconic songs include "Respect," "Think" and many more.
