The sub zero days in the winter, and the humid mosquito-infested days of summer can't hold us down. We are sitting pretty high on the list of "happiest places in America!" And, believe it or not, we make more money than most of the country.

So where did this list come from? Who determined that Minnesota is the 4th happiest state in the country? And where is the happiest place?

This was put together by 247 Wall St. They determined where the happiest places are by "assessing the five components of well-being - sense of purpose, social relationships, financial security, relationship to community, and physical health."

Minnesota residents have a stronger sense of financial security than residents of nearly any other state. According to their data, only 10.5% of Minnesotans reported not having enough money for food. "The typical Minnesota household earns $65,599 a year, nearly $8,000 more than the national median household income."

Believe it or not ladies and gentleman, the happiest place in the USA is South Dakota. Following them on the list is Vermont and Hawaii.

The most miserable places in America are 1. West Virginia, 2. Louisiana and 3. Arkansas.
