MiEnergy Cooperative has received notification of a phone scam in our area.  A MiEnergy member contacted the Rushford office Wednesday morning after receiving a phone call from a person representing himself as a Tri-County Electric Cooperative employee and demanding immediate bill payment by credit card or disconnection of services.  A press release received from Brenda Tesch, MiEnergy Public Relations Director, goes on to state that the member questioned the person on the phone regarding the name as Tri-County recently merged to form MiEnergy Cooperative. Brenda reminds members that MiEnergy employees do not take credit card payments over the phone.  If you receive a suspicious call, hang up and call MiEnergy Cooperative directly at 800-432-2285.
