Winona, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Lewiston man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for murdering his girlfriend. 25-year-old Kyle Allers pleaded guilty to a 2nd-degree murder charge last November in exchange for the dismissal of a 1st-degree murder indictment. The plea agreement called for a sentence ranging from 27 ½ years to 30 years in prison.

Allers was accused of the beating death of 24-year-old Tasha Hanson in May 2016. He was arrested after Winona County investigators found the young woman’s body in a wooded area east of Lewiston based on information supplied by a relative of Allers. The witness told investigators Allers had confessed that he had killed the mother of his 2 children and indicated where he had hidden her body.

An autopsy determined her death was caused by strangulation and blunt force head injuries.
