The LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals were able to turn up the defense and shutdown the Lanesboro Burros Friday night at LeRoy-Ostrander High School. The Cardinals came away with a 61-44 win.

The Cardinals were at it early, jumping out to a 6-2 lead. Then, the Burros started hitting some sots and took an 8-6 lead. Here is where the Cardinals started to turn up the pressure, pushing their lead up to 28-18 near the end of the first half.

Lanesboro struggled to stop the Cardinals from attacking the rim. LeRoy-Ostrander did a great job of getting to the free throw line to help extend their lead, as they took a 31-20 lead into the break.

The Burros couldn't get anything going offensively, as the Cardinals did a great job of shutting down top scorer Carson Switchenberg, holding him to nine points. LeRoy-Ostrander got great play from Trey Hungerholt, who finished with 25, and really took over the game late.

The Cardinals increased their lead to 49-32 in a hurry, and were able to come away with the 61-44 win.

Kolten Arndorfer finished with 12 points, as Seth Royston added 10 for the Cardinals. The Burros were led by Andrew Luck's 14.
