Lanesboro Is up for Title of ‘Best Midwestern Small Town’ and Now Sits in the Top 5 – [UPDATE]

Odds are looking good for two small Minnesota communities to have a real shot at taking the title.

About two weeks ago I discovered an interesting poll from USA Today in which the publication gave its readers 20 Midwestern cities to choose from in their 10 Best Reader’s Choice poll for "Best Midwestern Small Town."

Grand Marais was one of two Minnesota towns on the list, while the other had a more significant appeal since it's more in our neck of the woods...

The small and picturesque town of Lanesboro is also in the running!

Located in the Root River Valley and surrounded by Amish country, Lanesboro has so much to offer, with its different outdoor activities around the area, including fishing, hiking and canoeing.

But now here comes the cool part:

At last check Monday morning, Grand Marais was in the lead with Lanesboro moving all the way up from No. 15 to No. 4 since my last blog!

With your continued help, maybe we can bring Lanesboro all the way up to number one! Either way, there's a good chance that the title is coming to Minnesota, which is still pretty cool.
