On Tuesday night, KFIL Radio had the privilege of bringing you TWO high school basketball games, with a doubleheader starting with boys basketball. The Houston Hurricanes were hosting the Kingsland Knights.

We started on time with some aggressive defense and offense pushing the ball for the Kingsland Knights. The visitors got the ball down to Jordan Beck a couple times for scores and got the ball out for some good looks on jump shots to take the 6-0 not a couple minutes in. Houston answered back with a 3-pointer and a pair of free throws later made it just a one-point contest. Kingsland then went on an 18-2 run to extend the lead up to 28-11. A run of 13 unanswered points ended the first half and the halftime score was 41-14 for the visitors.

The second half started out a bit slow, with Houston scoring first before another 13-0 run by Kingsland to put the game out of reach. Four Kingsland Knights finished with double digit scoring nights. The clock was running for a lot of the second half, and Kingsland got the 59-25 road win.

The KFIL Subway Player of the Game for the Houston Hurricanes was Micah Johnson. The sophomore guard was active all night on offense and defense, and was 4-6 from the

free throw line as he drove in all night. KFIL Subway Player of the Game for Kingsland for the Kingsland Knights was junior center Jordan Beck. Beck score 8 in the first half, and 3 of the Knights' big men were a factor. Jordan Beck ended the night with 10 points. The winner of the Kingsley Mercantile Game Ball was Kingsland's Matthew Woods. Woods was another player that got some touches in the paint, and scored 6 in the contest. What really got him the award was his desire for the ball rebounding and coming up with a steal and diving on a loose ball even with a big lead.
