Wabasha, MN (KROC-AM News) - A human leg discovered under a debris pile along the Mississippi River near Wabasha earlier this summer was from a sailboater who vanished in Lake Pepin in late April. The Wabasha County Sheriff’s Department says it notified by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension that DNA testing has confirmed the leg found on July 14th just south of Wabasha near the town of West Newton came from 61-year-old David Sheridan.

Wabasha County officials are still waiting for the results of DNA testing on some additional human remains that were found last month along the Mississippi River just north of Wabasha. It’s believed the torso and leg are also from the Pepin, Wisconsin man whose empty sailboat was found just south of Lake City on April 29th.
