An exciting match was had on Cool-104 last night in Lanesboro. The Houston Hurricanes jumped out to a quick and early lead, taking set one, but the Burros of Lanesboro fought back to take set two. Houston was just able to sneak out wins in sets three and four to get the victory 3-1.

The crucial set was set number three in this one. Tied at one set apiece, the Hurricanes were trailing the Burros 21-19. After a 4-0 run to take a 23-21 lead, the Burros just did not have enough in the tank to come back and take the set, 25-23. This gave Houston the crucial 2-1 lead, and eventually helped them to take set four and the victory. This set saw ties at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 15, 17 and 21, showing how close of a match these two teams played.

Ariel Scanlan played great in the service department, collecting five ace serves, and hardly ever making an error. She was also a huge part in helping the Hurricanes start with a 5-0 lead in set number one, which led to a 25-15 win.

Set two was a different story, as the Hurricanes were able to lead for almost the entirety of the set, but Lanesboro was not going to go away easily. After several ties, and Houston leading by one or two points. The Burros were able to finally take a 21-20 lead, their first of the match. They were able to carry out the momentum and take the 25-22 win.

In set four, the Hurricanes were just able to use a late run that saw them edge out by as many as nine points, and take the match win with a 25-18 victory.

It was a great match that was highly entertaining and saw many lead changes and momentum shifts. Amber Chapel led the Hurricanes in kills, while Lanesboro's Joelie Schreiber was the hammer for the Burros, leading the team in kills.
