Minneapolis, MN (Learfield Wire Services) -  Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joe Kapp has announced that he is battling Alzheimer’s disease.

Kapp led the Vikings to Super Bowl Four in 1970.

The 77-year-old has struggled with memory issues for the past few years and is in the early stages of the disease. Kapp has also announced that he’ll donate his brain to head-trauma research when he dies.

The former QB says it’s time to make his condition public with brain disease a growing issue and the recently released movie “Concussion” shedding light on chronic traumatic encephalopathy suffered by NFL players.
