When May comes around, we know it is time to put the pole in the water or cast some bait and catch some fish. When I was younger, I wasn't very much of a fisherman, even to this day I wouldn't call myself an expert angler.

What I do know is that there is some great fishing here in southeast Minnesota.

My buddy likes to take his kayak around near Spring Valley called Pine Lawn. He has caught some pretty nice fish there, too! What I love most about fishing is just relaxing in the boat, especially early in the morning or late in the evening when the sun is starting to rise or set. It is absolutely beautiful.

Even though not all fish are in season, it is still time to get the pole ready, and enjoy some time on the water. I know it is tough to think about this time of year, but hey, it is almost May, so warmer days are coming!

What are some great places to go fishing here in southeast Minnesota??

A couple places that I know of include Whitewater, the Root River among many others! Of course, who could forget that Trout is in season! Might not be a bad idea to hit up a great trout stream, too!
