Additional Information

The High 5 Foundation is a non-profit foundation in Rochester, MN. For more than 5 years, the High 5 Foundation has devoted its energy to passionately helping the families and individuals who are struggling with medical conditions. Something that we feel that tends to get looked over is Testicular Cancer. Although very treatable if caught in early stages, it is still a very real physical and mental struggle for men to deal with. Our most recent goal is to start being involved in youth sports and kids who can't afford to play them. Locally and throughout the state, the High 5 Foundation is set out to make it possible for all youth to have the chance to play youth sports.

Testicular cancer can develop in one or both testicles. Most tumors are metastatic, meaning they have the ability to spread to other organs, such as the lymph system, lungs, and brain, leading to serious illness or death. Testicular cancer is rare, accounting for about 1% of all male cancers, however testicular cancer is the most common form of cancer in men ages 15-35. Every year in the U.S. and estimated 8500 men are diagnosed with testicular cancer and 350 die from the disease. That averages to every hour of every day some man hears, “You have testicular cancer.” If caught at an early stage, before it has spread, the survival rate is almost 100% but if caught at a late stage the rate drops to 80%. So men………… Get ‘em checked!
