Aren't church suppers the absolute best? Church ladies really know how to cook. Close your eyes. Can't you just smell the wonderful aroma of meatballs simmering in the oven, fish frying and cakes baking? Makes you hungry, doesn't it?  Friday, April 6, is the annual codfish supper at Preston United Methodist Church. They'll be serving from 5-8 p.m. Menu features meatballs in gravy, mashed potatoes, coleslaw with Jimmy's dressing, vegetables, rolls, beverage, dessert and of course, the star of the night, codfish with drawn butter.

The codfish supper is an annual event for Preston UMC. Feeding the large number of people who attend is no small feat. It's hard work! I remember several years back working in the carry-out section; I was exhausted by the end of the evening.

Mark your calendar, pack up the car and head to Preston United Methodist Church  Friday evening. Cost for adults is $14, children ages 5-12 are $7. Carry-outs available.
