The Dover-Eyota Eagles were able to turn up the pressure defensively, and turn it into offense. The Eagles were able to come away from 62-27 over Southland at Dover-Eyota High School last night on Cool 104.

The Eagles jumped right out to a lead, taking a 11-4 lead with 11:05 left in the first half. The Rebels struggled to get open shots, and Dover-Eyota was able to turn up the pressure and extend their lead to 20-9.

The Rebels got some good offense from McKendry Kennedy, as she was able to get open looks, but the Eagles continued to share the ball offensively, and finish the first half with a 34-13 lead.

The Eagles jumped out in the second half, pushing the lead to 49-18 with just over 12 minutes left, eventually to see the score get to 57-27. The Eagles scored the final five points to finish the game with a 62-27 victory.

The Eagles got some great play from Kylie Lacey and Amanda Franke to go along with the entire squad defensively, that made it really difficult for Southland to get anything going. The full-court pressure was the key for Dover-Eyota
