It seems obvious, but it doesn't hurt to remind, right?

The Minnesota DNR wanted to remind all that they must receive permission from landowners to hunt on private land for the upcoming special hunts across Southeast Minnesota. It all starts today and through Sunday the 23rd. The hunt returns Friday, December 28th and comes ends on Sunday, Dec. 30th, according to Minnesota DNR.

A limited number of special permits were available for hunters at Forestville State Park and Pin Oak Prairie Scientific and Natural Area. All 270 permits were sold out within two hours of the release.

If hunters are curious what other public land is available to hunt, they can check out the DNR's Recreation Compass too HERE.

These special hunts are just one step the DNR is "aking to act quickly in an effort to contain chronic wasting disease while it is relatively concentrated in a geographic area. Reducing deer numbers in this area helps lower densities and remove CWD-positive animals."
