In 2007, Joe Nichols and Heather Singleton were married  in Savannah, Georgia.

Hunter Hayes was born in 1991 in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.  The late Joey Martin was born in 1975 in Alexandria, Indiana.  Joey and her husband Rory Feek, Joey + Rory, were the ACM New Vocal Duo award winners in 2010.

The "Father of Bluegrass" music, Bill Monroe died in 1996 in Springfield, Tennessee five months after suffering a stroke.  Monroe was a member of the Grand Ole Opry and Country Music Hall of Fame.
