The "Father of Bluegrass", Bill Monroe, was born in Rosine, Kentucky September 13, 1911.  Monroe joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1939 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1970.
Tom T. Hall recorded his signature song "I Love" in Nashville in 1973.
Rascal Flatts' guitarist, Joe Don Rooney, was born in 1975 in Baxter Springs, Kansas.

A  huge, huge song "If I Die Young" earned a triple-platinum single award for The Band Perry in 2011.  And in 1986 "Little Rock" by Reba McEntire was #1 on the Billboard country singles chart.
