Country Music History October 9

American Idol winner, Scotty McCreery, was born October 9, 1993 in Garner, North  Carolina.  Scotty won "Idol" in 2011.  He had his first country music hit single in 2013 with "See You Tonight".

After accepting the award for CMA Entertainer of the Year in 1978, Dolly Parton's dress split as she walked off the stage.  Oops!

And in 1977, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inducted Woody Guthrie, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson.
