Way back in 1927, Jimmie Rodgers' first record "The Soldier's Sweetheart" hit the stores for sale.
Singer Chris LeDoux underwent a liver transplant in 2000 after a diagnosis of primary sclerosing cholangitis. Chris passed away in 2005.
And in 2012, Mary Chapin Carpenter was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
