In 1963, David Allan Coe began serving a four-year prison sentence at Ohio State Penitentiary for car theft, possession of obscene materials and possession of burglary tools.

Ernest Tubb was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1965.  In 1966, inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame were Eddy Arnold and Grand Ole Opry founder George D. Hay.

Madame Tussauds in New York unveiled a wax figure of Carrie Underwood in 2008.  And in 2011, Ronnie Dunn sang our national anthem at the World Series game in Arlington.  The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Texas Rangers 16-7.
