Country Music History November 17

One of the biggest names in music was born November 17, 1938 in Orillia, Ontario - Gordon Lightfoot.  What a talent and what a voice.

Remember the song from a few years back, "You Can't Hide Beautiful"?  That song was recorded by another Canadian singer, Aaron Lines, who was born this date in 1977 in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada.

Jackson, Mississippi is the birthplace of Reid Perry who was born in 1988.  Reid joined his brother and sister to form the very popular The Band Perry.

In 1989, "Steel Magnolias" opened in movie theaters across the U.S. starring Sally Field, Julia Roberts, Olympia Dukakis and country music mega-star, Dolly Parton.
