Country music superstar Reba McEntire was born March 28, 1955 in McAlester, Oklahoma. Reba became a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2011.
Another great country singer, Rodney Atkins, was born in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1969. Rodney has a string of hits including "It's America" and "Watching You".
Taking a gander at the Billboard charts, in 1992 the #1 country single was held by birthday gal, Reba McEntire, and "Is There Life Out There". Back in 1981, Hank Williams, Jr. and "Texas Women" held the #1 spot.
In 2001, the soundtrack from "O Brother, Where Are Thou?" received platinum album status.
