Country Music History August 29

Good Monday to you!  Songwriter of "The Gambler", "On The Other Hand" and many other hits, Don Schlitz was born August 29, 1952 in Durham, North Carolina.
Diamond Rio keyboard player, Dan Truman, was born inn 1956 in St. George, Utah.

Alabama and Glen Campbell were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005.  In 1996, Billy Ray Cyrus sang the national anthem and Emmylou Harris sang "Abraham, Martin and John" at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.  Bill Clinton was nominated for re-election.

And finally, in 2002, Alan Jackson received ten nominations for the CMA awards, breaking Merle Haggard's record set thirty-years prior.
