The Billboard country singles chart highlights today's country music history.  The #1 song in 1975 was Glen Campbell and "Rhinestone Cowboy".  "A Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash was #1 in 1969, what a great song!  And in 1952, Kitty Wells became the first woman to have a #1 song on the Billboard country singles chart with "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels".

Trace Adkins joined the Grand Ole Opry in 2003 singing "Hot Mama" and "Chrome".

And finally, founding member of Trick Pony, Ira Dean was born in 1969 in Raleigh, North Carolina.  In addition to being a singer and bass player, Dean is also a talented songwriter, penning such hits as Montgomery Gentry's "One In Every Crowd".
