Where is the summer going?  It's August already.  Let's get the month started with some country music history, alrightie?
Kix Brooks and his sweetheart, Barbara, were married August 1, 1981.  Kix overslept and was almost late for the ceremony.

During a concert at Big Valley Jamboree in Alberta, Canada, a stage collapsed during a thunderstorm.  Billy Currington was hospitalized with a concussion; bass player Alex Stevens was pinned in the rubble and needed subsequent surgery for a severed artery.

What a trooper!  In 2010, Jimmy Wayne finished a seven-month Meet Me Halfway walk for homeless teens.  Wayne was hobbling at the finish line in Phoenix due to a broken foot.

And finally, "Boot Scootin' Boogie", (just makes you want to dance around your desk doesn't it?), was number 1 on the Billboard country chart for Brooks and Dunn.
