1968  "The Legend of Bonnie and Clyde" reaches #1 on the Billboard chart for Merle Haggard.

2004   Loretta Lynn's "Van Lear Rose" album, produced by Jack White of the White Stripes, is released by Interscope.

2004   Gretchen Wilson's "Redneck Woman", her debut single, is released by Epic.

And in 2008, Country Music Hall of Fame inducts Emmylou Harris.
