1982  "Big City" by Merle Haggard hit #1 on the Billboard country singles chart.

1993   Reba McEntire and Vince Gill reached #1 on the Billboard country chart with "The Heart Won't Lie".

2013   Kenny Rogers is announced as a 2013 inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
