The #4 Chatfield Gophers fed the ball to their three-headed monster backfield of Kyle Nosbisch, Gage Tuohy and Carson Larrabee en route to a 27-14 win over #5 St. Charles in Section 1AA Quarterfinal action Tuesday night on Cool 104.

The Gophers first possession set the tone, and then two touchdown runs by Nosbisch in the second quarter pushed the Chatfield offense to the victory. The St. Charles Saints could not move the ball on the ground, as the Gopher defense was able to keep them in check.

In the 2nd quarter, the Saints got a big play when Nolan Boice hit a 43-yard touchdown pass to Kegan Maloney to make the score 14-6. Nosbisch hit the touchdown late in the 2nd quarter to make it 20-6 at the half.

Both teams were held scoreless in quarter number three, and in the fourth Larrabee took it to the house form 25-yards out to give the Gophers a comfortable lead. The Saints scored again in the 4th to make it 27-14, but they ran out of time.

The Chatfield defense was dominate in the run game, as Carter Fishbaugher was all over the place, making plays and stopping Sam Holtz and Parker Wendt in the backfield. The St. Charles defense was good, lead by Drew Leistikow, but they just couldn't stop the run consistently, and the Gophers were able to take advantage and secure the victory.
