Channel One Regional Food Bank is participating in a new kind of Food Fight this year. It is one that enlists the help of area schools, businesses, churches and other organizations to partner with area food shelves in the fight against hunger.

From February 26th through April 8th, Chanel One is inviting local businesses and organizations to hold their own unique food and fund drive. This effort in collecting funds or food will help nearly 13,000 food insecure people living in the county.

“Every day, Channel One works in partnership with others to help end hunger. Food and funds collected during Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign are critical to ending hunger all year long,” Executive Director of Channel One Regional Food Bank said. “We are asking the community to partner with Channel One during the month of March to make donations go even further. The more food and funds that Channel One collects during this time period, the greater our allocation from the Minnesota Food Share statewide incentive fund.”

Channel One’s goal for 2018 is to raise $225,000 and 225,000 pounds of food. Channel One’s FoodShare Campaign.
