The Plainview-Elgin-Millville Bulldogs defeated the Rushford-Peterson Trojans in straight sets Thursday night to earn their first match victory of the season.

In set number one, things got going pretty quick, with the home Bulldogs not allowing any R-P runs of any sort. Things really got lopsided after an 11-0 run got the score to a 23-8 PEM lead. Sam Hinrichs was perfect from the service line in set one, with a couple ace serves, and set one was a 25-8 Bulldogs victory.

Lauren Boyum had some big blocks early, and came up with a big kill for the 24th point to stop any Trojan momentum. The final in set two was 25-21.

Set three started with a couple Rushford-Peterson points and a couple early tie scores. Hayley Dessner again came up with ace block to tie and a couple kills to get the lead back. After 4-4, the Bulldogs went on another big run, scoring the next nine! Sam Hinrichs and Kaitlyn Bade came through with a couple ace serves, while Kensay Clobes made some clutch plays up front to score back-to-back points late, but down 22-14, it was too late.
