Ben grew up in Mabel, Minnesota before going on to get a degree from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato. He spent much of his youth listening to Twins games on KFIL. Ben moved on and wrote articles for his college sports website and also wrote Rochester Honkers game summaries while interning with Townsquare Media in Rochester. Ben likes most all the sports, though he knows the letdown that is associated with the Minnesota teams. One of his first CD's was Alan Jackson, and you can hear a mix of country music, from Merle Haggard to Taylor Swift when Ben is on air.

Wednesday night, Cool 104 brought you a 1AA West matchup between GMLOK and Zumbrota-Mazeppa. The home Cougars beat the visiting Bulldogs 6-2

Trout Days Wild on KFIL
So you know I stopped in Lanesboro and Whalan, but then I came back to Preston. It was still rainy when I got back. So I stopped for some food at the trucks on the main drag, then walked down to the studio to warm up, listen to Bill's State True Team Track & Field reports, and eat my food. I ...
I Didn’t Stand Still During the Stand Still
Saturday marked another Stand Still Parade in Whalan. Though it was wet, the show went on. As you may have heard, I got to eat some lefse there too.
So the parade started with the Lanesboro band playing under some covering. As I walked around, I saw a clever exhibit called "Stan's Still at the Parade...

Sweet Weekend
This past weekend, as you may have heard, was a busy one. On Saturday, we had the Whalan Stand Still Parade, Trout Days was going on, and there were a whole lot of treats in between. I actually started my Dessert Saturday in the morning.
Saturday, I stopped once again at the end of the the ice cream trail...
What Is A GloveBox For?
So, sometimes I ride around and I notice the glove compartment, where I don't put any gloves. So what gives?
Well, back in the day, in open vehicles, gloves were an essential part of the driving experience it seems. Bikers still wear them, perhaps due to air currents and numb hands, but I don't completely understand the use in regular driving cars nowadays...
Rushford Business Featured In State Lotto Commercial
In this area, a lot of people have Norwegian heritage; I have a Norway connection on both sides of the family. I like my lefse. And now even more Minnesotans will know where to find it.
One of my high school friends shared a commercial he saw online, and I thought it would just be a funny "Uff Da" comedy spoof...
Caledonia Wins Night Game on Cool 104
In a game under the lights in Rushford, the Caledonia Warriors defeated the GMLOK Bulldogs 4-2.
The game between these two teams had been scheduled earlier this year, but to reschedule, they needed at least one team to be off for the afternoon...
Pitching, Defense Lead FC/L to Victory
The rain cleared out for some high school baseball yesterday and we saw some good defensive plays by both squads. After all was said and done, the Falcons, playing their last 2017 regular season home game, defeated Spring Grove 5-1.
After a bit of a late start, each team went scoreless in the first, though the home Falcons ended the first with the bases loaded...
Ben Finds End Of Ice Cream Trail
You know I work the mornings on KFIL, work at B&B Bowl, but I am also fitting in some time at Another Time Ice Cream again this summer season!
As you know, Lanesboro is the last town on the ice cream trail. Since 2012, my summers have been filled with ice cream and coffee, and I guess you could say that I myself have been filled with ice cream and coffee.
