Country legend Alan Jackson took the stage at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Country Music's Biggest Night to perform his song "Chasin' That Neon Rainbow." He is one of 2017's Country Music Hall of Fame inductees.

In a cowboy hat and jeans, Jackson and his maroon guitar led his full band in a rousing rendition of "Chasin' That Neon Rainbow." Cuts to the audience showed nearly everybody singing along with lyrics like, "Singin' in bars and chasin' that neon rainbow / Livin' that honky-tonk dream."

Tonight's performance was drama-free, but Jackson has an interesting history with awards shows, including the CMA Awards: At the 1994 ACM Awards, he famously donned a pair of jeans and a Hank Williams T-shirt on the red carpet, in stark contrast with his tuxedo-wearing peers. At that same show, Jackson instructed his drummer to play without drumsticks, in protest of producers' request for him to play with a pre-recorded track.

Jackson got people talking at the 1999 CMA Awards, too, when he interrupted his own performance of "Pop a Top" to play George Jones' "Choices," in response to Jones not being given enough time to play his full song.
