Florida Georgia Line, Blake Shelton and Chris Stapleton were among the winners at Sunday night's (May 21) 2017 Billboard Music Awards. The night's biggest country winner, however, was Kenny Chesney.

Chesney took home two awards, Top Country Tour and Top Country Collaboration, before the 2017 BBMAs even began airing. FGL, meanwhile, earned Top Country Song during the broadcast, and Shelton received Top Country Artist.

Nominees for the 2017 Billboard Music Awards, according to Billboard, were selected based on “key fan interactions with music” between March 18, 2016, and March 16, 2017. Those metrics include album and digital songs sales, streaming, radio airplay, touring and engagement on social media, all of which are tracked by Billboard, Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound.
