A traffic stop near Owatonna earlier this week allegedly netted 200 pounds of marijuana. The 53-year-old driver of the pick-up truck was pulled over after a Minnesota State Trooper noticed an unrestrained child in the vehicle.

According to the article a 'strong odor of “raw marijuana” detected by the Trooper' and was aided by a K9 officer. The truck was then towed back to the state shop in Owatonna. A subsequent search turned up 200 pounds of marijuana.

The truck that the driver was in was registered in the state of California. In the search,  troopers also turned up a California-issued medical marijuana grow operation certificate.

Minnesota state law would put possible charges against the driver in the felony range. The driver of the pick-up has not been formally charged.
